Mammoth Cave Horse Camp, near Mammoth Cave, KY

Camp Rating:

This group of riders have camped together in the Black Hills of The Dakotas to Palo Duro and Cap Rock Canyons Texas and all over the MidWest and without doubt this Horse Camp is 1st Class all the way. Excellent camp sites, horse barn and stalls. The owners, Kevin and Linda, were very attentive to any and all needs of the equestrian experience. Furnished trail maps were very accurate and the trails we well marked. Our largest rig truck and trailer is 61 foot long and we had no issues getting in or out of the campgrounds. Looking forward to our next visit in July. I would recommend this Facility to anyone.

Pinecrest Campground and Cabins, near Salem, mo

This was our first visit to Pinecrest Campground and will not be our last. Ethan and Marie run an excellent operation. They were very attentive to all their guests but not to the point of being intrusive. This party of riders has been all over the USA and feel it equals or exceeds many others we have stayed at. Sites were found to be spacious and well shaded. Facilities (shower/toilet) were first rate. One member of our party no longer rides but tags along and Ethan took her out on some of the nearby trails on his Gator so she could see what she was missing. Trails were well marked and easy to follow; however, regardless how experienced some folks think they are can still manage to find their sense of direction challenged. Ethan goes the extra mile and ensures that all are back safe and sound. Stalls we used were covered and safe. We will return this July and be recommending this site to all we meet. Super location and exceeded expectations.

Primitive Campground with plenty of space to hobble, tether or temp corrals. Only water available is siphon pump for horses water. The trail has been set up and maintained by some volunteers led by Mr Wolf and is a very well planned out trail with not to much difficulty. We used this site as a overnite stop from Southern Illinois to Black Hills SD.
